IATA recommends that to facilitate airport operations pertaining to the clearance and handling of passengers, crews, baggage, cargo and aircraft, the airline members do establish an AOC at all international airports.
The purpose of the AOC is to provide opportunities for dialogue, education, advancement and improvement of all aspects of the airport operations trough meetings, seminars, communications, publications, and other programs and activities.
Subsequently, an AOC was created in Brussels in 1971.
In 1991 it was officially registered as a non-profit organisation.
Thanks to continious efforts and positive inputs throughout the years, the AOC Brussels is now recognized as a valid partner and consulted in all airport related matters by the various authorities as well as the entire airline community in Belgium.
